So, today is Father's Day. What does every Dad long to do on this special day? Fry a turkey (or two)! About a month ago, I saw a bargain on Amazon.com for a DELUXE TURKEY FRYING KIT. It was MUCH cheaper than the current price and had free shipping! I couldn't resist. It turns out that Kim was planning on getting me one for out anniversary. The fourth is appliances, you know. So, I ruined her brilliant idea, but it worked out, since we could fry on Father's Day. Anyway, we bought two, 12 pound birds and injected them with marinades; one spicy hot Cajun and one garlic and herb. They sat overnight and today we heated up about four gallons of peanut oil to 350oF. Each turkey took about 35 minutes to cook. All modesty aside, these turkeys are AMAZING! Killian says these are the best turkey she has ever tasted. The marinade injector really did a fantastic job! As I sit here sharing our day, Kim is carving the birds. She really made this happen. I just fried the birds. I could go on and on, but nothing I write can describe how juicy, succulent, rich, and delicious these birds are. So, I'll direct you to the photos of the |
